- Promote and develop the culture of Portugal;
- Expand greater interest among our partners and others in the state of New Jersey
civic, good citizenship and awareness of the importance of community development working to achieve common goals; and - Promote fraternal relationships and communication between the Portuguese community of Union and other communities, Portuguese or not.

How to Become a P.A.C.A Partner
This Association has 4 types of members:
- Regular members – Portuguese or Portuguese descendants by birth, inheritance or marriage;
- Beneficial Members – people who, being regular members, have made a significant contribution to the Association, either monetarily or providing relevant services;
- Honorary Members – people who, not being regular members, have contributed significantly to the Association, either monetarily or providing relevant services;
- Senior Members – members over 70 years of age and 10 years of continuous association.
Shares:
- Currently, the annual membership fee is $ 50.00 PP and $80.00 for family .
- Payments are received at the Headquarters bar or by post.
Membership Benefits and Privileges
- Right to participate in meetings of the General Assembly, formulate proposals and vote;
- Right to run for any position in the Board, after one year of membership;
- Receive the monthly newsletter of the P.A.C.A. ;
- Attend the Association’s Headquarters and participate in activities developed there;
- Benefit from certain discounts on monthly meetings;
- Participate free of charge in the annual lunch offered to members;
- To be able to use the (partial) salon for own use, at an established price;
- Enroll your children in Rancho Folclórico;
- Other benefits established by the P.A.C.A.

History of P.A.C.A.
When the Portuguese families started to settle in Union in greater numbers, the idea was born to create an Association that could represent our ethnicity and serve as a link between the Portuguese-speaking community. So it happened in 1982 when a group of 14 people got together and started to form what was then called PORTUGUESE AMERICAN CIVIC ASSOCIATION (P.A.C.A.).
